CHANGES POSSIBLE IN BUFFALO FRONT OFFICE?
Sabres GM Kevyn Adams
The Buffalo Sabres have won just twice in their first seven games of the 2024-25 regular-season and that has prompted speculation over change within the organization.
On Oct. 12, TFP’s David Pagnotta reported on “The Hot Stove” on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio that the Sabres upper brass may be exploring the possibility of a managerial change following an 0-3-0 start to the campaign. The Sabres have since gone 2-1-1 in their last four contests, but the rumours persist.
During his weekly appearance on “Hello Hockey” on Saturday with Tom Gazzola and former NHL defenceman Shawn Belle, prior to the team’s 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks later in the day, Pagnotta expanded on the whispers surrounding the Sabres and GM Kevyn Adams.
“If they don’t get their season on track, there has been at least internally discussions from up top about making a GM change,” Pagnotta noted. “That doesn’t mean, from what I’m being told, that Kevyn Adams would be on the outs, entirely. I think he would be elevated to a different position and a new GM would come in. I think they’ve got a person in mind, that’s what I’m led to believe.”

The Sabres do not appear to be close to making a move but seem to be considering their options and doing their due diligence should a change be required.
Adams brought in Lindy Ruff as the club’s new Head Coach this off-season, replacing Don Granato behind the bench, to help right the ship, but the team has looked shaky out of the gate. The Sabres currently rank 25th in the NHL in goals-against, giving up 3.71 goals per game in their first seven matches.
If the Sabres are not in playoff contention this season, a move at the GM post could be possible, while other changes may also occur as Buffalo has not made the post-season since the 2010-11 season.
