MATTHEWS, ANDERSEN BROMANCE CONTINUES
It all started when…
Toronto Maple Leafs teammates Auston Matthews and Frederik Andersen have become extremely good friends over the years, and it’s become even more evident by their time during the pause in the NHL schedule due to this COVID-19 pandemic we’re all dealing with.
Andersen has stayed with Matthews at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona during the global lockdown, and while neither have been overly active on their social media accounts since the NHL shut down on March 12 — Freddie’s posted a promoted playlist on Twitter and Instagram, that’s it — Matthews has tossed up a few solid posts.
No.34 (on your gamesheet, but No.1 in your hearts, Leafs fans) has posted a few gems, with the most recent occurring today on Instagram, highlighting the ultimate strength of his bromance with Freddie — the dog walk.
You’ll remember, just two weeks ago he and Andersen shared a pretty cool video of how the two of them are keeping busy during the self-quarantine period.
These Leafs’ friendship evolved since the 2016-17 NHL season when Matthews broke into the league as a rookie and Andersen started his first season with the club after being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks.
Since then, Toronto’s dynamic duo has been seen hanging out at dinners and lunches together on the road, catching up during the off-season, hitting up other sports when time allows it, and hopefully, for Leafs fans, they’re keeping in shape for when this season resumes — whenever and however that is.
