BABY NO.2 FOR THE OVECHKINS

BOY, OH BOY…

Alex Ovechkin and his wife Nastya announced the birth of their second child on Wednesday, and their second boy, Ilya.

With the NHL announcing on Tuesday the official conclusion of the 2019-20 regular-season, Ovechkin captured his ninth Rocket Richard Trophy as the NHL’s leading goal scorer, co-winning the award with Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak — they each scored 48 goals.

It’s the seventh time in the last eight seasons Ovechkin has won the Rocket Richard Trophy.

As much as Ovi will welcome yet another award, the birth of his second son certainly tops them all.

But we’re curious… is Ilya named after Ovechkin’s good friend, and fairly new teammate, Ilya Kovalchuk? It’s possible. The two have had a solid bromance for years.

Congratulations to the Ovechkins, and we can’t wait until the little guy’s a bit older so we can see some great family photos of the four of you.
