FLYERS EXPLORING TRADE MARKET FOR KOLOSOV
Flyers GM Danny Briere
Flyers goaltender Alexei Kolosov remains overseas and has not reported to Philadelphia ahead of rookie and full training camp, which gets underway on Wednesday starting with player physicals.
Kolosov, 22, is in the second-year of a three-year, entry-level contract. He reportedly did not enjoy his brief time in the AHL and is looking for a change of scenery or to stay in Belarus and play in the KHL.
During his latest “32 Thoughts” podcast and written piece, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported the Flyers are evaluating the trade market for Kolosov.
“Teams who have inquired were told a second-round pick is the price, but, before anyone is willing to do so, they would have to figure out if Kolosov would join them,” Friedman wrote.
Friedman mentioned in his podcast that the Flyers are not firm on trading him, but with the price set, Flyers GM Danny Briere is open to listening.
It is unclear, at this point, which teams have expressed interest in Kolosov.
The Minsk native posted a 22-21-3 record with Dynamo Minsk last season, along with a 2.39 goals-against-average, a .907 save percentage and four shutouts. He went 1-1-0 in two games with Lehigh Valley of the AHL last season with a 3.03 GAA and a .885 save percentage.
