BOESER, CANUCKS WILL TAKE CONTRACT TALKS IN STRIDE
Brock Boeser, forward
Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is in the final year of his contract and while that may raise questions over his future with the organization, the priority remains his health leading up to the 2024-25 campaign.
Boeser, 27, suffered from a blood clot in his leg last season, a condition that was not revealed until midway through the playoffs, upon which he was immediately placed on blood thinners and monitored over the summer.
Now cleared for action, Boeser is focused on the upcoming season and performing at a level he has shown in the past, with his contractual status placed on the backburner for the time being.
“Coming off the blood clot, I think I got a lot to prove,” Boeser told reporters while attending the 40th annual Jake Milford Charity Classic.
There wasn't too much talk between the two sides over the summer at all. Most important thing is Brock is healthy and ready to go. Contract szn Boeser incoming. https://t.co/lNC1H3ZBlv

Boeser is in the final year of a three-year, $19.95 million contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Contract talks during the summer were not extensive, primarily due to the concerns over his health, and negotiations could get going at some point this season. For now, neither side is concerned about his next deal.
In 81 games with the Canucks last season, Boeser put up career highs in goals (40) and points (73), and led the club in goals in the playoffs with seven and tied for the team lead in playoff points with 12.
