The Buffalo Sabres are actively trying to trade defenceman Henri Jokiharju, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, according to TFP’s David Pagnotta.
Jokiharju, 26, comes with a $3.1 million salary cap hit. Pagnotta reported on Saturday that the blueliner is on the market and Sabres GM Kevyn Adams is trying to move him by Friday’s 3pm ET trade deadline.
Citing separate sources, Pagnotta noted during The Hot Stove on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Saturday, prior to the Stadium Series game between Columbus and Detroit, that Jokiharju would welcome a change of scenery and join a contender for a playoff run.
Henri Jokiharju is a scratch for the #LetsGoBuffalo tonight. Not sure if it's specifically for trade related purposes, but the Sabres are trying to move him.

The Sabres have been engaged in trade discussions with multiple teams about several players this season, including the likes of Dylan Cozens, Bowen Byram and Jason Zucker.
Jokiharju, who has been scratched multiple times this season, has registered four goals and four assists for eight points in 42 games. He was scratched from Saturday’s game, as well.
