The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired forwards Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand and a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Seattle Kraken in a three-way trade that includes the Detroit Red Wings.
The Kraken have retained 50 percent of Gourde’s contract, with the Red Wings retaining 25 percent of his contract.
The Kraken are acquiring forward Michael Eyssimont, 2026 first-round draft pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick from the Lightning. Both first-round picks are top-10 protected.
The Red Wings receive a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick from Tampa, while the Lightning receive unsigned defenceman Kyle Aucoin.
Both Gourde and Bjorkstrand were ranked on the TFP Trade Watch List.
Gourde, who returned from injury Tuesday night, picked up six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 36 games with the Kraken this season.
Bjorkstrand, who has one more year left on his contract after this season, registered 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points in 61 games with Seattle this season.
TFP’s David Pagnotta reported earlier on Wednesday that the Kraken were engaged in trade talks with multiple teams involving a number of their players, including Gourde, Bjorkstrand, Brandon Tanev, Jamie Oleksiak and others.
