Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton has been the subject of trade speculation for the last few seasons, but the chatter really picked up this season and has continued leading up to tomorrow’s 3pm ET trade deadline.

Laughton, 30, has one more year left on his contract after this season and comes with a $3 million salary cap hit.

Several teams have expressed interest in Laughton, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils and Winnipeg Jets, and the Flyers have maintained a high price tag on him that includes a first-round pick or a player/prospect of equivalent value.

Laughton acknowledged he has kept tabs on the rumours floating around – “I see it pop up on my feed, I’m pretty aware of it,” he said today – and is doing his best to focus on playing, including a game Thursday night that he is still set to perform in.

“It’s a different feeling, for sure. I haven’t heard anything, I haven’t had any conversations. Pretty much status quo at this point,” he told reporters after today’s morning skate. “With all the rumours and stuff, I think it feels maybe a little more real this year, but whatever happens, happens. You definitely think about what’s to come for you and everything like that. I’m just trying to stay in the moment.”

Laughton, who remains among the players on the TFP Trade Watch List, has picked up 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 59 games with the Flyers so far this season.
