SABRES TRADE MITTELSTADT TO AVS FOR BYRAM

The Buffalo Sabres have traded centre Casey Mittelstadt to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Bowen Byram.

Mittelstadt ranked No.16 on the TFP Trade Watch List.

Mittelstadt, 25, recorded 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points in 62 games for the Sabres this season, leading the club in both assists and points and ranking tied for sixth in goals.

He has played 339 regular-season NHL games with the Sabres from 2017-24, registering 62 goals and 124 assists for 186 points.

A native of Edina, Minnesota, Mittelstadt was drafted eighth-overall by Buffalo in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Byram played in 146 regular-season games with the Avalanche from 2020-24 and registered 23 goals and 40 assists for 63 points.

He was a member of the 2022 Stanley Cup Championship team with the Avalanche and was selected fourth-overall by Colorado in the 2019 NHL Draft.
