PANTHERS ACQUIRE TARASENKO FROM SENATORS
Vladimir Tarasenko, right wing
The Florida Panthers have acquired right wing Vladimir Tarasenko from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2024 conditional fourth-round draft pick and a 2025 third-round draft pick.
The Senators are also retaining 50 percent of Tarasenko’s $5 million salary cap hit.
He was ranked No.4 on the TFP Trade Watch List.
Tarasenko, who has agreed to waive his no-trade clause for the Panthers, registered 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points in 57 games with the Senators this season.
With contract talks not generating any traction, the #SJSharks are actively trying to move Alex Barabanov. Word out of SJ is he's ready to move on and wants to join a Cup contender.

The Sharks are also willing to trade forwards Mike Hoffman and Kevin Labanc, however the interest from other teams appears to be fairly minimal, at the moment. Both players come with high salary cap hits that would require San Jose to retain on. The Sharks have just one more retention slot available this season.
Outside of their pending UFAs, defenceman Mario Ferraro, who has two more years on his contract, and forward Luke Kunin, who can become a restricted free agent this July, have continued to generate interest, with the Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs among the teams eyeing both.
