ANDERSON BACK IN THE TRADE MARKET?
Josh Anderson, forward
The Montreal Canadiens are open to making multiple moves ahead of Friday’s 3pm ET trade deadline and GM Kent Hughes has been taking calls on some of his players.
Canadiens goalie Jake Allen and defenceman David Savard have been most talked about, while forward Tanner Pearson, who is playing on an expiring contract, is also a candidate to be moved this coming week.
While the likes of veteran forward Joel Armia is also believed to be available, another forward is reportedly in play once again in Montreal.
Josh Anderson’s name has popped up in trade speculation over the last 18 months and he appears to be available once again with the deadline five days away as noted by TFP’s David Pagnotta in the latest CCM Hockey Trade Deadline segment.
Pagnotta mentioned Anderson is one of the players the Canadiens are still open to moving. However, with three more years left on his contract after this season at a $5.5 million salary cap hit, a deal ahead of the deadline may be unlikely.
Anderson, 29, owns an eight-team no-trade list and has registered eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 57 games with the Habs so far this season.
