The Dallas Stars addressed the media on Tuesday, days after being eliminated from the playoffs in the Western Conference Final to the Edmonton Oilers.

Speculation over veteran forward Joe Pavelski’s future in the NHL has come up throughout the post-season and he admitted to reporters on Tuesday “this is it for me.”

Pavelski, who turns 40 on July 11, revealed he had known for some time this was going to be his last season and that the “plan is not to play next season.”

In 1,332 career NHL regular-season games with the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars, Pavelski accumulated 476 goals and 592 assists for 1,068 points, along with 458 penalty minutes.

Drafted by the Sharks in the seventh-round, 205th overall, of the 2003 NHL Draft, Pavelski skated in 201 career playoff games and made two trips to the Stanley Cup Final, falling short in 2016 with the Sharks and 2020 with Dallas.
