The San Jose Sharks have several players set to become unrestricted free agents this summer and could be quite active between now and the March 7 trade deadline.

Forwards Mikael Granlund, Luke Kunin and Nico Sturm, defencemen Cody Ceci and Jan Rutta, and goaltenders Alexandar Georgiev and Vitek Vanecek, who is currently on the IR, are all on expiring deals and are eligible to become UFAs July 1.

While Granlund is the team’s most attractive asset in the trade market – he currently ranks No.3 on the TFP Trade Watch List – it appears Ceci and fellow blueliner Mario Ferraro, who has another year remaining on his contract after this season, have drawn interest from teams around the League.

During Saturday’s edition of “The Latest” on TFP, David Pagnotta indicated that both Ceci and Ferraro have attracted interest from other clubs and their names are likely to appear more and more in trade chatter in the weeks leading up to the deadline.

Ferraro, 26, is in the third year of a four-year, $13 million contract and does not own any no-trade protection. He generated interest last season, as well, but the Sharks elected not to move him.

Several teams are looking to bolster their blueline and add a defenceman this season, including the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers, and could approach the Sharks about either Ceci or Ferraro.
