MILLER: “WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS”

The trade speculation is ramping up. The noise is getting louder. A trade seems to be in the offing.
Throughout Saturday, reports surfaced over trade talks the Vancouver Canucks have been engaged in involving star centre J.T. Miller.
As noted Saturday evening, the Canucks have been having ongoing trade negotiations with multiple teams regarding Miller, with a trade between Vancouver and the New York Rangers falling through at some point during the day.
The Canucks have given the Rangers and other unidentified clubs permission to speak with Miller’s representatives about waiving his no-movement clause. Despite recent rumours suggesting the New Jersey Devils have spoken with the Canucks about Miller, TFP’s David Pagnotta reported Saturday that New Jersey have not been granted permission to speak with Miller’s camp.
Miller, 31, is in the second year of a seven-year, $56 million contract.
Pagnotta also reported Saturday morning on “The Hot Stove” on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio that Miller is willing to waive his NMC for the right environment, assuming the Canucks get to the finish line and come to terms on a trade they deem acceptable.
Following Saturday night’s 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers, Miller was asked about his future with the organization.
“You try to focus on the game,” he said, declining to get into specifics.
“I’m planning on being a Canuck today, tomorrow. Whatever happens, happens. I’m focused on the next game.”
As EF reported earlier, some teams have permission to talk to Miller & his camp about waiving his NMC. I'm told that, as of this moment, the #NJDevils are not one of those teams. https://t.co/4A2DwxVhkW

The Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes are some of the teams believed to have expressed some level of interest in both Miller and/or teammate Elias Pettersson this season.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on “Saturday Headlines” that Pettersson has informed the Canucks he prefers to stay in Vancouver. His no-movement clause does not kick in until July 1.
Miller picked up two assists in Saturday's victory, bringing his points total on the season up to 31 (eight goals, 23 assists) in 35 games.
