The St. Louis Blues are among the teams expected to be active ahead of the March 7 trade deadline and could make multiple moves over the next 16 days.

Blues forwards Brayden Schenn, Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou are among the names swirling about the trade winds as speculation ramps up.

During Tuesday’s edition of “The Latest” on TFP with Kate Petterson and David Pagnotta, Pagnotta reported that the noise surrounding St. Louis has picked up and has even generated traction during the 4 Nations Face-Off.

“I think all three of those guys are out there right now,” Pagnotta stated. “There was that report that correctly reported that Brayden Schenn is out there and available, and that really kind of spiraled things in St. Louis. It really had a trickle effect throughout the first week in Montreal of this 4 Nations tournament. A lot of people were talking about what St. Louis could possibly do.”

Schenn, 33, owns a full no-trade clause and would have to approve any deal the Blues attempt to complete. He has three more seasons left on his contract after this year and comes with a $6.5 million cap hit.

Several teams are believed to have interest in Schenn, including the Vegas Golden Knights.

“We know that Vegas is a team that’s never afraid to make a bold move ahead of the deadline, and they have been linked to Brayden Schenn,” Pagnotta said. “He’s got no trade protection; he will have a big say in where he ends up. But it does sound like Vegas is looking to make another type of splash ahead of the deadline. They have cap space. Obviously, Shea Theodore is out. We had heard the initial prognosis was six-to-eight weeks, which would take them right towards the end of the season. So, we’ll see kind of where that goes. But (Schenn’s) on their radar and a few other teams, as well.”

Buchnevich, 29, owns a $5.8 million cap hit this season, but his six-year, $48 million contract extension kicks in July 1. He also has a 12-team no-trade list this season.

Kyrou, 26, is in the second season of an eight-year, $65 million contract and his full no-trade clause does not take effect until July 1.

“These would be significant type of moves that St. Louis tries to pull off. And we know Doug Armstrong, their GM right now, he’s not afraid to make the big deals,” Pagnotta added.
