MONTREAL CANADIENS (1)
vs.
BOSTON BRUINS (8)
| The
Montreal Canadiens won all eight meetings against the
Bruins this season, outscoring Boston 39-16.
Led by the likes of the
revived Alex Kovalev and star rookie goalie Carey Price, the Habs finished first in the Eastern Conference for the
first time since the 1988-89 season. The fever is
definitely back in the city and fans are expecting the
very best out of Les Bleu, Blanc et Rouge.
With a solid Tim Thomas
between the pipes and a rock on the blueline in Zdeno
Chara, the Bruins are hoping to give the Canadiens a run
for their money and show them that the playoffs are an
entirely new season. Revenge could be in the air.
Not only will the Bruins
be looking to pay the Habs back for losing all eight
times,
they'll want retribution for Boston's quick exit in
2002. That season, the Canadiens (8th at the time) upset
the first-place Bruins and knocked them out of
post-season play. |
