Capitals sign goalie Theodore TheFourthPeriod.com
The Washington Capitals have signed unrestricted free agent goalie Jose Theodore to a two-year contract worth $4.5 million per season.
Theodore, 31, spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche. In 53 games, he posted a 28-21-3 record with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .910 save percentage.
The former Hart and Vezina winner has played in 444 career NHL games with Montreal and Colorado, and has registered a 183-196-30 record with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage.
The Capitals were negotiating with goalie Cristobal Huet, but talks appear to have been going in the wrong direction.
