Leafs bring back Joseph, sign Finger and Hagman TheFourthPeriod.com
TFP has learned that the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed unrestricted free agent goalie Curtis Joseph to a one-year, $700,000 contract.
The Maple Leafs have also signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Jeff Finger to a four-year, $14 million contract, and forward Niklas Hagman to a four-year, $12 million deal.
Joseph, 41, posted a 3-2-0 record with the Calgary Flames last season.
The native of Keswick, Ontario played for the Leafs from 1998-98 to 2001-02.
Joseph has a career record of 449-343-90, with a 2.78 goals-against-average, a .907 save percentage and 51 shutouts.
Finger, 28, spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche and recorded eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points, to go along with a plus-12 rating.
In 94 career NHL games, Finger has nine goals, 15 assists, a plus-22 rating and 51 penalty minutes.
Finger will earn $3.5 million per season.
Hagman, 28, had 27 goals and 14 assists for 41 points in 82 games with the Dallas Stars last season.
