The Montreal Canadiens appear close to re-signing unrestricted free agent right wing Alex Kovalev to a two-year contract.
TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta reported that a deal was close, however Kovalev's agent confirmed that a deal had not yet been finalized, as of 1pm ET.
