Grahame leaves Hurricanes, signs in Russia

TheFourthPeriod.com

Free agent goalie John Grahame won't be re-signing with the Carolina Hurricanes, as he's inked a deal to play in Russia next season.

Grahame, 32, posted a 5-7-1 record with the Hurricanes this season. He signed a two-year deal with Omsk of the Russian Super League.

In 224 career NHL games with Boston, Tampa Bay and Carolina, Grahame has tallied a 97-86-18 record with a 2.78 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage.

He was originally drafted by the Bruins in the ninth-round (229th overall) of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

David Pagnotta is currently on the road, en route to Detroit, covering the Stanley Cup Finals and is unavailable to comment.
