The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with center Tim Connolly worth $9 million.
The Sabres have also acquired goalie Mikael Tellqvist from the Phoenix Coyotes for a fourth-round draft pick.
Connolly, 27, will earn $4.5 million per season. In 29 games with the Sabres this season, he has registered 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points.
The native of Syracuse, NY, has accumulated 81 goals and 186 assists for 267 points in 467 career NHL games, with Buffalo and the New York Islanders.
Connolly was originally drafted fifth-overall by the Islanders in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Tellqvist, 29, has posted 7-5-1 record in 15 games with the Coyotes this season, with a 2.86 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
In 107 career NHL games with Toronto and the Coyotes, Tellqvist has posted a record of 43-40-10 with a 3.04 GAA, a .897 SV% and six shutouts.
