Bergeron signs with Swiss club TheFourthPeriod.com
A few hours after Bruins captain Zdeno Chara signed in the KHL, Boston center jumped on board with Lugano of the Swiss National A League.
Bergeron, 27, will play in Switzerland for the duration of the NHL lockout.
In 81 games with the Bruins last season, Bergeron registered 22 goals and 42 assists for 64 points, along with a plus-36 rating.
Bergeron joins Anaheim Ducks defenseman Luca Sbisa, who also signed with Lugano. He becomes the 16th NHL player to sign in the Swiss National A League during the lockout, including Bruins teammate Tyler Seguin.
