Bruins have eyes set on Hossa TheFourthPeriod.com
If Pittsburgh Penguins sniper Marian Hossa hits the open market as an unrestricted free agent July 1, the Bruins are expected to be hot on his trail, reports the Boston Herald.
According to the paper, the Penguins will not make any significant effort to re-sign Hossa, mainly because they will not be able to afford him.
The Herald claims the Bruins, Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers will battle for Hossa's services.
The Canadiens almost acquired Hossa at the trade deadline, but a last minute offer by the Penguins nixed the Habs' deal and sent Hossa to Pittsburgh.
