COYOTES WORKING ON TRADING ZUCKER

Jason Zucker, forward

The Arizona Coyotes have been working the lines and taking calls on veteran forward Jason Zucker, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Zucker, 32, does not own any no-trade protection and is being held out of Tuesday’s game for trade-related reasons. He comes with a $5.3 million salary cap hit, however the Coyotes are likely to retain as much as half of that figure in a trade.

The Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets are among the teams believed to have interest in Zucker.

Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong has been not only navigating calls on Zucker, but defenceman Matt Dumba, forward Nick Bjugstad, blueliner Troy Stetcher, and winger Alex Kerfoot have also generated interest from various clubs.

Dumba, like Zucker, is expected to be moved ahead of the deadline and the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins are among the teams eyeing him.
