FLAMES CONTINUE TO MANEUVER TRADE TALKS

Calgary Flames GM Craig Conroy remains fully engaged in trade discussions with a number of teams regarding several of his players. With the trade deadline 16 days away, talks are expected to ramp up heading into the weekend.

Veteran defensemen Chris Tanev and Noah Hanifin remain most popular, with several teams vying for their services. Conroy has yet to budge on the asking price for either player, as teams try to negotiate their way to a deal.

The Flames are believed to be asking for a first round pick, top prospect and a third asset in exchange for Hanifin, while the price tag begins with the first-round pick for Tanev.

The Dallas Stars are reported to be among the front runners for Tanev, the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks are some of the other teams that continue to express interest.

Conroy is also engaged in trade discussions involving some of his other players, as teams have been inquiring about some of his players with term, like defenseman Rasmus Andersson and Andrew Mangiapane. However, unless teams effectively overpay for either player, Conroy is not expected to entertain those inquiries.

Goaltender Jacob Markstrom also remains a hot topic and as Pagnotta has reported, the Devils are expected to circle back on negotiations for the veteran netminder.
